Abra Valley Colleges is a private, higher educational institution in
Bangued, Abra. It was founded in 1948 as the Abra Valley Junior College, Inc. The school was built on the site of the Bayquen Hotel that was destroyed during the Second World War. Through the years, the college expanded, adding new degree programs and improving on its facilities. The campus contains laboratories, a library, the Abra Valley Grand Hotel, and even a radio station.
At present, the institution offers undergraduate courses in
Teacher Education, Business Administration, Liberal Arts, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Nursing, Criminology, and
Information Technology. Also available is a
Bachelor of Laws program. Aside from higher education programs, Abra Valley Colleges has a basic education department, including a program in Senior High School (SHS). The SHS unit provides the
STEM, GAS, HUMSS, ABM, and
ICT strands.
