Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field with minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent as acceptable by the Senate.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field not meeting CGPA 2.75 but above CGPA 2.50 in related field; can be accepted provided that candidates have at least 5 years of working experience in a relevant field.

For Doctor of Philosophy programs:

Requirements:

• A Masters degree in a related field accepted by the APU Senate
• Other qualifications equivalent to a Masters degree that are accepted by the APU Senate

FOUNDATION PROGRAMME

Requirements:

For Business & Management, Industrial Design & Brand Management, Animation & Visual Effects, and International Studies programs:

• An overall credit pass in at least 5 subjects at SPM level and a minimum of a pass in Bahasa Malaysia and Sejarah (History); or
• 5 grade C passes at ‘O’ Level / GCSE; or
• A qualification that APU accepts as equivalent to the above.

For Computing & Technology, Computing & Business Computing, and Accounting & Finance programs:

• An overall credit pass in at least 5 subjects at SPM level including a credit in Mathematics and a minimum of a pass in Bahasa Malaysia and Sejarah (History); or
• 5 grade C passes at ‘O’ Level / GCSE including a credit in Mathematics; or
• A qualification that APU accepts as equivalent to the above.

For Engineering and Industrial Design programs:

• An overall credit pass in at least 5 subjects at SPM level incuding a credit in Mathematics and Physics OR Chemistry and a minimum of a pass in Bahasa Malaysia and Sejarah (History); or
• 5 grade C passes at ‘O’ Level / GCSE including a credit in Mathematics and Physics OR Chemistry; or
• A qualification that APU accepts as equivalent to the above.

DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES

Requirements:

For Diploma in Information & Communication Technology, Diploma in Information & Communication Technology with Specialism in Sofrware Engineering
Diploma in Information & Communication Technology with Specialism in Data Informatics, Diploma in Information & Communication Technology with Specialism in Interactive Technology, Diploma in Finance, Diploma in Accounting programs:

• An overall credit pass in 3 subjects at SPM including credit in Mathematics and a minimum of pass in Bahasa Malaysia and Sejarah (History); or
• An overall credit pass in 3 subjects at O-Levels/GCSE including credit in Mathematics; or
• A qualification that APU accepts as equivalent to the above

For Diploma in Business with Information Technology program:

• An overall credit pass in 3 subjects at SPM and a minimum of pass in Mathematics, Bahasa Malaysia and Sejarah (History); or
• An overall credit pass in 3 subjects at O-Levels/GCSE including Mathematics; or
• A qualification that APU or APIIT accepts as equivalent to the above

For Diploma in Business Administration, Diploma in Design & Media, and Diploma in International Studies programs:

• An overall credit pass in 3 subjects at SPM and a minimum of pass in Bahasa Malaysia and Sejarah (History); or
• An overall credit pass in 3 subjects at O-Levels/GCSE; or
• A qualification that APU or APIIT accepts as equivalent to the above

For Diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering program:

• An overall credit pass in 3 subjects at SPM including credit in Mathematics and a PASS in Physics OR Chemistry OR Biology OR Science; and a minimum of pass in Bahasa Malaysia and Sejarah (History); or
• An overall credit pass in 3 subjects at O-Levels/GCSE including credit in Mathematics and a PASS in Physics OR Chemistry OR Biology OR Sciences; or
• A qualification that APIIT accepts as equivalent to the above

For Computer Technology and Games Development programs:

Requirements:

• K-12 / 12-year curriculum High School (Weighted average of final grades including Mathematics obtained in high school); 
• 2 Full Passes or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.0 in STPM and a Credit in Mathematics at SPM; or
• 2 Passes at ‘A’ Levels and a Credit in Mathematics at ‘O’ Levels / GCSE; or
• 5 Grade B's in UEC including Mathematics; or
• The APIIT/APU Foundation or equivalent with CGPA of 2.0 and Credit in Mathematics at SPM/O-Level; or
• Canadian Pre-University (CPU) with minimum average of 50%; or
• Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) with minimum average of 60%; or
• South Australian Matriculation Certificate (SAM) with minimum of 60%; or
• International Baccalaureate with minimum 24 marks;
• Victorian Certificate of Education with minimum average of 50%;
• Ontario Secondary School Diploma with minimum average of 50%; or
• A qualification that APU accepts as equivalent to the above.

For Engineering programs:

Requirements:
 

• K-12 / 12-year curriculum High School (Weighted average of final grades including Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry obtained in high school)
• Pass STPM with at least principal / full pass / grade C (CGPA 2.0) in Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry and pass SPM with credit in Mathematics and one of the relevant Science subjects - Physics / Chemistry / Technical / Vocational; OR
• Passed 'A' Levels with at least a Grade "D" in Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry and pass 'O' Levels / GCSE or equivalent with Grade C in Mathematics and one of the science subjects - Physics or Chemistry; OR
• Pass UEC or Senior Middle Three (SM3) with Grade B in five (5) subjects including Mathematics and one of the relevant Science subjects - Physics or Chemistry and a pass in Bahasa Malaysia; OR
• Pass the APU Foundation or equivalent; OR
• A qualification that APU accepts as equivalent to the above.

For Business, Management, Marketing, Tourism, and Media programs:

Requirements:

• 2 Principal Passes with a minimum Grade C+ (GP 2.33) at STPM level and with a Credit Pass at SPM including Mathematics and a Pass in English at SPM; or
• 2 Passes in A-Levels & and a Credit Pass in Mathematics at ‘O’ Levels / GCSE; or
• Pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Jayyid, and credits in Mathematics and a Pass in English at SPM level;
• The APIIT/APU Foundation or equivalent with CGPA of 2.5 and Credit in Mathematics at SPM/O-Level and a Pass in English ; or
• 5 Grade B's in UEC including Mathematics; or
• Canadian Pre-University (CPU) with minimum average of 50%; or
• Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) with minimum average of 60%; or
• South Australian Matriculation Certificate (SAM) with minimum of 60%; or
• International Baccalaureate with minimum 24 marks;

For Animation and Visual effects programs:

Requirements:

• K-12 / 12-year curriculum High School (Weighted average of final grades obtained in high school);
• Successful completion of STPM with 2 full passes or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.0 and completion of SPM or equivalent; or,
• Successful completion of A-Level with at least a pass in 2 subjects and successful completion of O-Level or equivalent; or
• Recognised Matriculation or foundation with CGPA 2.0; or
• A qualification that APIIT accepts as equivalent to the above.

For Industrial Design and Brand Management program:

Requirements:

• K-12 / 12-year curriculum High School (Weighted average of final grades obtained in high school);
• Successful completion of STPM with 2 full passes or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.0 and completion of SPM or equivalent; or
• Successful completion of A-Level with at least a pass in 2 subjects and successful completion of O-Level or equivalent; or
• Recognised Matriculation or foundation with CGPA 2.0; or
• A qualification that APIIT accepts as equivalent to the above.
• A Portfolio of Art & Design work which can include:
  • Sketch work and finished drawings.
  • Photographs of models or other 3D works Art, illustration, photography etc.
  • Examples of your computer skills
  • Please bring in sketch ideas for a “new personal communication device”.

For International Studies program:

Requirements:

• K-12 / 12-year curriculum High School (Weighted average of final grades obtained in high school);
• Successful completion of STPM with 2 full passes or equivalent with minimum CGPA of 2.0 and completion of SPM or equivalent; or
• Successful completion of A-Level with at least a pass in 2 subjects and successful completion of O-Level or equivalent; or
• Recognised Matriculation or foundation with CGPA 2.0; or
• A qualification that APIIT accepts as equivalent to the above.
