Deakin University was established in 1974 and was named after the second Prime Minister of
Australia, Alfred Deakin. It was also the first to be established in regional Victoria and one of the first universities in the country to specialise in distance education. Deakin has five campuses: Melbourne Burwood, Geelong Waurn Ponds, Geelong Waterfront, Warrnambool, and Cloud Campus (study online).

undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programs in architecture, education, business, engineering, design, environment, health, nutrition, english, humanities, nursing, science, medicine, law, information technology, and arts.
