Eastern Samar State University (ESSU), formerly known as Eastern Samar State College (ESSC), is a public educational institution established in 1960 as the Eastern Samar National Regional Agricultural School (ESNRAS).
The school was originally built to provide
agricultural science instruction and to improve the lives of people in Eastern Samar. The Eastern Samar State University has five campuses in the entire province. It has a main campus located in
Borongan and branches in municipalities such as
Guiuan, Can-avid, Maydolong, and
Salcedo. Each campus has its own set of programs offered to those who intend to study in the institution.
ESSU offers tertiary programs in
Engineering, Agriculture, Nursing, Criminal Justice, and
Vocational Technology. In addition to various undergraduate and graduate courses, the university also has a
senior high school program which includes
Academic, Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) and Sports Tracks.
