Hokkaido University, formerly known as Sapporo Agricultural College, is an educational institution in
Japan. Founded in 1876, it has campuses in Hakkodate and Sapporo.
The University offers
undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the fields of literature, education, law, business, science, medicine, engineering, and agriculture.
Hokkaido University has produced some
notable alumni including novelist and Christian socialist, Kanzo Uchimura, and the first Deputy Secretary-General of the League of Nations, Inazo Nitobe.
