The Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering is a field of engineering that deals with the planning, design, operations and closure occurs in the mining. Students learn how to use math, engineering, and science to solve existing problems and to help prevent future problems. They also study mine ventilation, rock fragmentation, land surveying, and material handling to help mines perform safely.

Mining Engineering can be taken for at least four to five years in college depending on the term system implemented by the university. In addition to completing a degree program, Mining Engineers’ Licensure Examination is often taken and advised for professionals in the field. This examination is under the supervision of Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC).
