University of Leeds is a public research university in the United Kingdom. its origins started with the founding of the Leeds School of Medicine (1831) and Yorkshire College of Science (1874). In 1884, these schools combined institutions to form the federal Victoria University. A few years later, Manchester and Liverpool established their own universities followed by Leeds in 1904 by gaining its own Charter as an independent institution.
The University has eight faculties and several schools, institutes, and centers under these faculties. There are undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programs offered in the fields of arts, humanities, business, social science, engineering, and medicine.
